Why it matters

Companies are starting to put AI judgments inside databases. A question like "how many of these reviews are positive?" is answered by an AI reading one row at a time. This study shows the same report can come out different the next day, even when nothing in the data changed, and even when the AI is set to always pick its most likely word. It also means the published tests that rank these tools can swap places from one run to the next.
