Children in six very different cultures all helped a partner, each in their own wayکودکان در شش فرهنگ بسیار متفاوت، همگی به شریک خود کمک کردند، هر یک به شیوه‌ی خاص خودش

Children from six very different communities all helped a same-age partner. Researchers watched 336 children, aged 4 to 9, working in pairs, and found only small differences between the cultures.

Why it matters

Grown-ups often wonder whether kindness has to be taught. This study hints that helping a friend starts early in many kinds of places, from farming villages to European cities. What culture seems to change is the form the help takes, not whether help happens at all. Still, this was one short task on one day, so it cannot tell us how these children behave all the time.
