Bent galaxy disks hint that dark matter feels no hidden extra force
Dark matter is invisible material whose gravity shapes galaxies. If it felt an extra force that stars do not feel, galaxy disks would bow into a shallow U shape. In 3,968 galaxies, none did.

Why it matters
Most of the matter in the Universe is dark matter, and nobody yet knows what it is made of. Some popular explanations for dark energy (the unknown thing making the Universe expand faster and faster) require dark matter and dark energy to tug on each other, which acts like an extra force felt only by the dark side of the Universe. This study says that tug can be at most about one part in a thousand of normal gravity, which is weaker than several of those explanations need. It is a limit, not a discovery, and some versions of these theories could still slip past this particular test.
