Doctors ignored the AI when it was right — and that cost them mostپزشکان وقتی AI درست می‌گفت نادیده‌اش گرفتند؛ و همین بیشترین ضرر را به آن‌ها زد

Ignoring correct computer advice hurt doctors' accuracy more than following wrong advice did. 125 doctors and trainees each read 150 brain scans; advice that marked the suspicious spot made a correct answer about 1.8 times more likely.

Why it matters

Hospitals around the world are starting to put AI tools next to doctors, and many people assume the danger is doctors trusting the machine too much. This study points at a second problem: doctors also brush aside the machine when it is correct, especially on hard cases. That matters if you ever get a brain scan after a head injury, because a missed bleed is dangerous. The study used one task in a controlled setting, so real hospital shifts, with tiredness and time pressure, may look different.
