A routine heart test, read by AI, may hint at who is most at risk after a heart attackیک آزمایش روتین قلب که با AI تحلیل می‌شود، شاید نشان دهد چه کسانی بعد از حمله قلبی بیشترین خطر را دارند

An AI program estimated how well the heart muscle moves, using only a routine test of the heart's electrical signals. In 1,065 people after a heart attack, and 219,564 others, those estimates helped predict who later died.

Why it matters

The test used here, an electrocardiogram, costs little and is done almost everywhere, even in small clinics. The usual way to see how well the heart muscle squeezes and relaxes is an ultrasound scan, which needs costly machines and trained staff. If software can pull similar information out of the cheap test, doctors in more places could spot the people who need closer care. But this is early work: better prediction is not the same as better treatment, and the extra accuracy it added was small.
