Early design hints that robots could top up their own power by travelling between hot and cold groundنشانههای اولیه طراحی حاکی از آن است که رباتها میتوانند با حرکت بین زمینهای گرم و سرد، انرژی خود را شارژ کنند
Air-filled capsules that snap between two shapes can turn warm and cool patches in the environment into stored energy. In bench tests, capsules pushed along a hot-to-cold tube snapped back and forth, storing energy at 29-87% efficiency.

Why it matters
Most robots stop working when the battery runs flat, which limits them in deserts, disaster zones, and on other planets, where there is nowhere to plug in. The world is full of small temperature differences: sunlit asphalt can reach 65 °C while the grass beside it stays near 25 °C. This team's idea is to let a robot collect energy from those differences simply by choosing a route that passes through them. It is still an early laboratory idea, not a working machine, so it may be years before any robot runs this way, or it may never leave the laboratory.
