A 14-day heart monitor did not stop fainting from coming backمانیتور قلبی 14 روزه از بازگشت غش جلوگیری نکرد
Sending fainting patients home with a 14-day heart monitor did not reduce how often they fainted again. In 2,234 adults at 45 UK hospitals, both groups reported about 1.4 fainting spells over the next year.

Why it matters
Fainting sends huge numbers of people to the emergency department, and doctors often cannot find the cause. One popular answer is a sticky patch that records the heartbeat for two weeks, to catch a heart rhythm problem in the act. This trial suggests that handing those monitors to everyone with unexplained fainting does not mean fewer fainting spells afterwards. The monitors may still find a cause in some people, but the extra cost and bother do not appear to pay off for the average patient. Because the main measure was what patients remembered and reported, smaller benefits for specific groups cannot be ruled out.
